Role: Cloud Architect
Location: Redmond, WA
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data architectures and pipelines on GCP to support real-time and batch processing.
- Architect scalable, high-performance cloud-based data solutions using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage.
- Lead cloud migration efforts for data platforms, transitioning from on-premise data solutions to GCP.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to define and implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are implemented in all cloud solutions.
- Design and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and other storage systems for analytical and machine learning applications.
- Monitor and optimize cloud data architecture for cost-efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams on best practices for GCP-based data solutions.
- Stay current with emerging trends in cloud and data technology, recommending new tools and approaches.
- Automate and streamline data processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, focusing on data solutions, with significant experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- GCP certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect
- Expertise in GCP data services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Storage.
- Hands-on experience with designing and implementing data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines on GCP.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance, including IAM, VPC, and encryption on GCP.
- Experience with real-time data streaming and batch processing workflows.
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database design principles.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead data-focused cloud projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with machine learning and AI-driven data solutions on GCP, including services like Vertex AI.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for data, including CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Experience working with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
- Experience with Python, Java, or other programming languages used in data engineering.
